lyrics
It's half past 3, I'm still in bed,
It's been pitch black since everyone left.
Nothing's more fragile than my self esteem,
And I'm late to every place I gotta be.
Tryna keep it together as I crumble apart,
Every dream I have's another crack in my heart.
Feeling alone is all I've ever known,
And why is there a hole in every sock that I own?
In the end things are what they seem,
I've dream't a thousand broken dreams.
The grave's been dug, the eulogy writ:
Here he lies- the Heartbreak Kid.
If there's no god, that would make sense,
There's no way he'd ever create such a mess.
You hear my laughter, its just a disguise,
I see disappointment in everyone's eyes.
I fell on the ground and I'm covered in dirt,
I try to get back up but it never works.
Sleepless nights and cigarettes,
I failed you all, go hedge your bets.
In the end things are what they seem,
I've dream't a thousand broken dreams.
The grave's been dug, the eulogy writ:
Here he lies- the Heartbreak Kid.
How many names have been forgotten?
I can't begin to explain.
But I remember everything. (Everything)
How many lives were lived for nothing?
Can't reap what you don't sow.
So many died without a home. (Without a home)
In the end things ripped at the seams,
I can't take one more broken dream.
Lower me down, the headstone read:
"Here he dies, the Heartbreak Kid!"
In the end things are what they seem,
I've dream't a thousand broken dreams.
The grave's been dug, the eulogy writ:
Here he lies- the Heartbreak Kid.
